Body In The Bathtub
03:30
|
|||
I saw a body in the bathtub
Looked kinda funny from the ceiling
I knew I knew it but I couldn't put my finger on the face
And then it came suddenly
It was my body displaced
What you are is not what you see
Anything you can see cannot be what you are
Look here I'm not trying to tear your house apart
I'm just trying to suck the pain from your suffering sacred heart
Nobody's going to fry
Nobody no matter the crime
I hate to pant your black and whites
But it's OK to not know what happens when you die
Hiding in my skin is space
And I have dreamed up this place
Believe nothing and remember
This body belongs to the landscape
The wind fills up my lungs like sails
We all end up with dirt under our nails
We are cameras for a while trying to capture our best side
Not the body in the bathtub
Not the one floating above
Not in any fixed position
There's no one behind the face
Nobody's going to fry
Nobody no matter the crime
I hate to pant your black and whites
But it's OK to not know what happens when you die
Nobody knows

When I Grow Up
04:37
|
|||
When I grow up I wanna be someone
Who knows about grown up things
But I'm not sure anymore if I care
Because we're all lost here
We're none the wiser
When I grow up I wanna be someone
Who projectile vomits opinions
To reassure my insecure sense of self
Because I'm lost and scared
Hold my hand
Help me
Hold
My hand please
Won't you
Help me
Hold
My hand please
Won't you
We're all well trained but the safety's off
The hive is civilized but at what cost
Outside the costume's but inside something is lost
The hands are warm but the heart is frost
Chest flexed tight, chin high
Roman lance, side speared
Tongue charged, poised to fight
Guard this hill of fears
Help me
Hold
My hand please
Won't you
Help me
Hold
My hand please
Won't you
We're all well trained but the safety's off
The hive is civilized but at what cost
Outside the costume's but inside something is lost
The hands are warm but the heart is frost

Bell And Jewel
04:43
|
|||
There is a part of me that's growing old
And a part of me that's younger too
I got the sun in my stomach
And on my fontanel sits the moon
Am I caving in?
Am I breaking out?
I've got a church in my chest the howls
And a steeple sticking out my mouth
A particle in two places at the same time
My bicycle's wheels spin different ways at the same time
Divide and multiple
And you are the type to get away with murder
You are the type to get away with murder
And I won't let you out of sight
The type to get away with murder
You are the type to get away with murder
And I won't let you out of sight
No I won't let you out of sight
No I won't let you out
No I won't let you
Fill up my seven black days with seven thousand moans
I got a job, not a life, in a world full of phones
I got God in my pocket and sky in my bones
I got seven thousand rebirths to find my way home
A particle in two places at the same time
My bicycle's wheels spin different ways at the same time
Divide and multiple
And you are the type to get away with murder
You are the type to get away with murder
And I won't let you out of sight
The type to get away with murder
You are the type to get away with murder
And I won't let you out of sight
No I won't let you out
Of sight
Come to my crown
And then move down
Into the blue
Bell and the jewel
I become you
All is empty

Behind The Finger
03:29
|
|||
Push the darkness out so you'll be safer
I found you're hiding place behind the finger
Point that riffle back into the shadows
Is that your doppelganger in the gallows?
I know why you're scared
The winds now reverse
I know why it hurts
The world now inverts
You're on the wrong side of that two way mirror
Don't those tabloid demons look familiar?
Now I say this with the utmost respect
If you spot it you got it
No one's perfect
I know why you're scared
The winds now reverse
I know why it hurts
The world now inverts

Silk Road
04:32
|
|||
Collapsed a heap outside in daylight
Heavy bodied wilting figures
People river through Plunkett Cannon
Rippling over and round your stupor
Acolytes of the sinkhole
Salvation in oblivion
Slow motion downward slumping
Vacuumed empty cheekbone specters
Rolling boney down curbed carpet
Black dreams of blank canvas
Phone booths blanket the dead
And of course pavement works aswell

Folding
05:50
|
|||
Roaming this boreen of outgrown fossil dreams
Pouring Thorin and Caffeine over my sleep
Foaming at the mouth with the slightest sniff
Of something distracting
I want my womb
And I feel the undercurrent pull down on my feet
Now I see that the sea it has a hold on me
Rolling, folding, twisting under the waves
Dreaming of waking but sleep paralysis seals my cave
Drifting from the path into the woods
Haunted and enslaved by old appetites
And I feel the undercurrent pull down on my feet
Now I see that the sea it has a hold on me
And I know the truth but I can't move
Feed me lotus root and guru juice
As the lights go out I lose hope
Pull me from the fog and back to you
And I feel the undercurrent pull down on my feet
Now I see that the sea it has a hold on me

Ox Herding
03:14
|
|||
You know that I don't
If you and I've ever met
But I know that you know me
Better than I know my own breath
Tried to squeeze you in
But you don't seem to fit
Even made you a doorway
But you don't warm to it
Tried every trick in the book
To make you stay with me
Take my eyes off of my eyelids for a second and you'll flee
You know me like a mother does
And love me just like death
But whenever you're around
I always lose myself
Tried to squeeze you in
But you don't seem to fit
Even made you a doorway
But you don't warm to it
Tried every trick in the book
To make you stay with me
Take my eyes off of my eyelids for a second and you'll flee
You will flee
Once again there I go
Ox herding on the road
Blindfolded, lost in smoke
Trying to stay afloat

Just say so and I will take you home
Home is where the hemorrhage is
Health is a hammered spike in a socket
Free-Man from all maladies
immaculate track record, bar 500 fatalities
Freedom from disease

Endless Knot
05:02
|
|||
Kill the pope if you meet him on the road
He's just another pothole
On your way home
Take this disease please
Nothing's gonna last
Everything must go
There's nowhere to stand
The ground is made of smoke
The pieces all move
They slide and they slip
There's nowhere to lean
And there's nowhere to grip
I see the paint peeling off this
A nip and tuck, a little face lift
One giant leap in one small shift
I see the paint peeling off this
And I don't know why...
The pieces all have parts that endlessly divide
Interdependence has everything entwined
I can't find my self
Nothing stands alone
The lights are on inside
But there's nobody home
Scoop out these eyes
Offer them up to the tide
This spine of knots will untie
Pare it all back to baseline
Build a fire high
Burn all the wrongs with the rights
I prying the sky from this vice
I see the paint peeling off this
A nip and tuck, a little face lift
One giant leap in one small shift
I see the paint peeling off this
And I don't know why
No I don't know why
I'd eat this lie
Anymore
Kill the pope if you meet him on the road
He's just another pothole
On your way home
Take this disease please
